Number of great points made. The main message is that visitors don’t read websites as you want them too. We all do it – scanning highlighted text, headlines and bullet points, rather than the ‘meat and bones’ that we spend hours correcting and editing.
With attention span of a goldfish, you simply cant assume that all the text will be read. Saying that, dubious English and poor grammar is no excuse hoping that someone won’t notice. I’m sure a psychologist somewhere has proven that that the eye is drawn to a spolling error as it is to the colour red on a white background.
